We created New Hires because of how overwhelming it can be to start a new career. You are introduced to so many different technologies, systems, tools, ways of doing things, and sometimes you are left to figure it all out on your own. Often, Google searches will lead you to solutions that you can not implement due to reasons such as not having administrative access on your work computer. There is a difference between the freedoms that you have to problem solve on your own personal machine and a work machine. Our goal is for New Hires to act as that mentor that you might not have. Ask any question, regardless of how basic it may be.

New Hires is a place for anyone, regardless of what industry someone works in or how many years of experience they may have. If you just started a new career and ultimately need to vent, ask questions, seek guidance, or maybe even brag then New Hires is for you. If you are about to start a new career, whether it be out of college or as an adult, we encourage you to ask about the career in interest. There is usually someone who has already walked the path you are about to embark on, and as a result can provide useful information and advice. If you have a few years of experience and feel like you have things under control then come help those who are not as far along as you are. At the end of the day, everybody is a new hire at least once in their life.

There is a Resources section which includes videos and cheat sheets for various subjects and programming languages, libraries, frameworks, and tools.

Lastly, the most ambitious and yet exciting section of New Hires is a forum dedicated for individuals to network with others to brainstorm and develop an idea. The best possible outcome for New Hires is that a group of strangers come together on our site and develop a succesful idea which allows them to quit their regular jobs, and start working for themselves. Nothing would make us happier!
